Most people focus on their summer tan and forget about the yellowish tint of their teeth. A whiter smile is just the thing you need to give off a healthy glow this summer, and your teeth will look even brighter with tanned skin from your beach trip. At 5 Mile Smiles, we offer in-office and at-home teeth whitening treatments so that you can brighten your smile at your own pace.
Your smile influences your confidence, and whiter teeth help you look younger. Whether you have a summer wedding, work event, or family gathering coming up, teeth whitening treatments can help you look and feel your best.
Zoom! In-Office Teeth Whitening
Dr. Keefe and our dental team offer Zoom! whitening treatments. These appointments can transform your smile by brightening teeth by up to eight shades. Zoom! works by applying a bleaching agent to your teeth and covering your lips and gum tissues with a special guard to protect your soft tissues from irritation. The bleaching agent is activated with a blue light for 15 minutes, then removed and re-applied until you achieve your desired shade.
Zoom! in-office treatments are perfect for men and women who want to improve their smile before a big event. After just one hour, you can walk out of our office with a brighter smile.
Whiten Your Teeth with Customized Trays
Our take-home whitening trays lighten your teeth gradually. They are molded to fit your teeth and mouth to prevent the whitening agent from leaking from the tray and irritating your soft tissues. These customized trays provide even results that improve tooth stains and can help maintain results from your in-office Zoom! treatment.
Complementary Cosmetic Dentistry Treatments
Teeth whitening can improve or erase extrinsic tooth stains on the surface of your teeth (enamel). You may have superficial discoloration on your front teeth if you’re a red wine, coffee, or tea drinker. Smoking, aging, and poor oral hygiene may also cause extrinsic tooth staining. However, some people may have intrinsic stains that go beyond the enamel to the inner tooth layer (dentin). These stains don’t respond to whitening treatments and may be caused by medications and other factors. Porcelain veneers and dental crowns are excellent options for deep discoloration and other tooth flaws, and these cosmetic dentistry procedures pair well with whitening treatments.
